Holston Electric Cooperative (HEC) is dedicated to delivering safe and reliable electrical services to its member-owners at a cost-efficient rate. Established in 1940, HEC operates as a member-owned distribution cooperative serving Hawkins and Hamblen counties in the rural upper region of East Tennessee. Its core value centers on service excellence, aiming to meet or surpass customer expectations through consistent and dependable electric provision.

The organization’s strategic objectives include providing economical and dependable power supply, educating members on the advantages of cooperative electric services and safe electricity use, and fostering employee development through ongoing training and recognition of individual contributions. Additionally, HEC commits to environmental stewardship and supports sustainable growth within the residential, commercial, and industrial sectors of its service area.

HEC services over 30,000 residential, commercial, and industrial customers across a 525-square-mile territory. The cooperative maintains a distribution network extending over 2,600 miles with 12 substations, with its headquarters located in Rogersville and branch offices in Church Hill and Russellville.

Complementing its utility operations, HolstonConnect is a wholly-owned subsidiary established in 2017 with a focus on providing advanced communication solutions. As a not-for-profit entity, HolstonConnect offers high-speed internet, television programming, and telephone services via a broadband fiber network to members within Hawkins and Hamblen counties.

The mission of HolstonConnect is to supply dependable, high-quality internet, television, and telephony services at reasonable costs. Its vision is to deliver fiber-based service levels that meet or exceed member expectations.
